Favourite Childhood Movies Tag

Today I thought it would be fun to create a new tag! I’ve never done this before, but the idea popped into my head as I was getting a bit nostalgic over movies that I grew up with! 🙂 So basically, you just have to share 5 of your favourite childhood movies.

~ Here are the rules ~

1) Share 5 movies from your childhood.

2) Do a mini write-up about what made this movie special to you as a child. (optional)

3) Acknowledge the person who tagged you and link it back to their blog.

4) Tag 5 or more bloggers to take up the challenge if they choose.

# 5 ~ Bride Wars

You know when you’re a little kid and there’s a lot of movies that you’re “not old enough to see” yet? At this time in my life I was allowed to watch this movie. It was like a “grown-up movie” to me at the time and I’m sure added to the appeal. Looking back on it, it’s not as amazing as I remembered it, but still a good movie.

#4 ~ The Aristocats

I actually haven’t seen this in like forever, so I’m just going by memory, but I absolutely loved this movie to bits as a child! I loved the white cats (I was very little) and I would always anticipate the song “Everybody Wants to be a Cat” and laugh the whole time the piano was smashing through several stories… I thought it was the funniest thing ever. 🤣

#3 ~ 13 Going On 30

I loved this movie and it was another one of those “grown-up” movies to me. Mum would record it for me on VHS tape when it came on TV and would cut out certain parts that I was’t “old enough to see” yet. I watched it recently and was delighted to find that it wasn’t just my child mind thinking it was a great movie simply because it was rated higher than G. I loved it and possibly even a bit more! In fact, I am going to post the full review here soon.

#2 ~ Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

Whilst my brother and I loved both the first movie and this one, this definitely stood out to us more. It was one of these movies we would quote most days for years and that we could watch 8 times in one week (yes, my then little brother did that), but even though I would roll my eyes and complain when he would play it yet again, I loved it too. 😆

#1 ~ Shrek 2

Again, the Shrek series was all throughout my childhood, but this movie was the highlight, hands down. If I could pick one movie to represent my childhood, it would be this one. My brother and I probably watched it 100 times over the years and soon memorized it word-for-word, quoting the movie the whole way through and picking what characters we would voice. Yes, we were obsessed. 😄

  1. Where must I start, When I was a child, I loved watching, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas, this is my favorite movie during the holidays. My next favorite is “The Wizard of Oz” I loved these movies because they both have a sentimental meaning to me. Happy writings..

  2. Oh my goodness! :’) This was such a joy to go down memory lane with you, Sarah! 😀 I loved reading about some of your childhood favourites! It’s so nice to go back and rewatch special movies, isn’t it! :’) I look forward to seeing your review on ’13 Going on 30’—I still haven’t watched it, but it is on my list! I can’t wait! 😀 ❤

As you know, I was obsessed with Hannah Montana (the episodes and the movie) and the High School Musical movies as an 8-10 year old. 😉
But, off the top of my head, a movie that my brother and I absolutely LOVED SOOO MUCH was a movie called 'Catch That Kid.' Have you ever seen it? Strangely enough, we never bought it; rather, we just borrowed it over and over again from the DVD shop. XD Man, I should really watch it again! I haven't seen it in years! :')
We also really loved 'Alvin and the Chipmunks.' However, in hindsight, I really don't know why we loved this one so much. XD I don't think I would like it as much now if I watched it again, but hey. XD

    1. Thank you, Koko! And yes, it is special. 😍 Agh! I can’t wait for you to see that either!! 😃💕

Aww! Yes, I remember your Hannah Montana and HSM phase! 😍 It made me want to get into Hannah Montana too, but I never did watch the tv show. 😐💛 Haha! That’s so cute that you’d borrow it over and over! 😍 I actually haven’t heard of ‘Catch That Kid’ before! 😮 Ah yes, my brother and I liked ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’ too. 😂 Ikr? 😄💕 Do I remember correctly that ‘Despicable Me’ was another movie you and your brother loved growing up? 😀💛

      1. 😀 I will have to see if my library has it! ❤

YES! 😍 That's okay! Do you think you would ever try a season at some point, or is it not really something you think that you would get into? That's okay! 😀 Did you? 😂 Did you ever watch the Alvin and the Chipmunk movie with the Chippette's? 😂

We did love that one—but that was a movie we got into later (when I was 12 or 13). So, it's special—but not as special as movies from any of our younger years. ❤ That's so nice that you remember that, though! :') ❤

        1. 💕
Hmm, maybe I would? Who knows, I think I’d probably enjoy it. 😄 Yes, I watched the first three chipmunks movies. I loved the first two, but I remember hating the third one. Did you know that there’s a fourth one out now too? 😂
Ah, I see; that makes sense. It’s funny how some older memories seem to be more endearing, hey? 😍

          1. Okay, awesome! XD Let me know if you ever do! 😀 ❤

Did you? XD Oh gosh, yes! I feel like the first one was the best—and the following movies weren't quite the same. X'D HAHA! Oh my gosh! I didn't know that, that's hilarious! XD ❤

            It's very true. 😍 ❤
